PURPOSE: This Disclaimer is here to clearly explain, outline, and layout who I am, what I do, and what I don’t do before you use, view, and/or browse the Site and/or purchase or Download any course, program, service, or product offered by me. In short, the purpose of the Site is to provide information and education on academic coaching, career development, and training for international graduate students and early career academics navigating the hidden curriculum of academia.

“Purchase,” “Purchased,” “Purchasing,” “Downloading,” or “Download” means any Content (as defined herein) or Courses, Services, and/or Products (as defined herein) you paid for and/or copied to your computer, hard drive, cloud system, or another process of downloading data, from this Site (as defined herein).

“Personal Information” means information that can be used on its own or in conjunction with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. For example, personal information includes your name, address, email address, telephone number, etc.

“Site, Courses, Services, and/or Products” means https://theglobalacademicstudio.com/ and its associated pages, Content, email list, social media posts, blog posts, courses, coaching services, one-to-one and group courses or programs, templates, contracts, forms, guides, eBooks, worksheets, workbooks, website materials, and/or templates available on the Site.

“Site” means https://theglobalacademicstudio.com/ and any and all of its pages, tabs, or sub-pages and “Content,” as defined herein.

“You” or “Your” means the user, customer, or viewer of the Site.

The Site, Courses, Services, and/or Products are intended for informational and educational purposes only and are not intended as professional advice by me. By accessing and using the Site, Courses, Services, and/or Products, such use shall constitute your agreement that the Site, Courses, Services, and/or Products is not professional advice and shall not be relied upon by you as such.

Academic coaching is not therapy, counselling, or regulated career advice. Coaching focuses on reflective learning, skill development, and personal or professional growth and should not be relied upon as a substitute for licensed professional support where such support is required.

By using the Site, you understand that I am an academic coaching business providing one-to-one and group coaching, academic skills development, and career support services for international graduate students and early career academics. The services provided by The Global Academic Studio are educational and developmental in nature. They are not and shall not be considered a substitute for any of the following professional services: therapy, counselling, psychotherapy, or any form of mental health treatment; medical or healthcare advice; legal advice; financial, accounting, or tax advice; immigration advice; or career placement, recruitment, or employment services. I am not a licensed or accredited practitioner in any of these fields. If you require advice or support in any of these areas, it is your responsibility to consult a qualified professional.

While my Content and coaching sessions may touch on topics related to the professional fields listed above, any views, observations, or suggestions I offer are based on my experience as an academic coach and educator, not as a qualified professional in those fields. You should not rely on anything discussed in coaching or published on the Site as a substitute for professional advice, and any decisions you make based on my Content or our conversations are made at your own judgment and discretion. My Content is for informational and educational purposes only, and is based on my personal and professional experience.

Emotional Wellbeing and Safeguarding

Coaching can sometimes surface difficult emotions, personal challenges, or unresolved concerns. This is a normal part of reflective and developmental work. However, The Global Academic Studio does not provide crisis support, mental health treatment, or clinical intervention. If you experience emotional distress during or as a result of coaching, you are encouraged to seek support from a qualified mental health professional.

Where the Coach reasonably believes that a client’s needs go beyond the scope of coaching (for example, where clinical mental health support, safeguarding intervention, or crisis management may be required), the Coach reserves the right to pause coaching, recommend appropriate professional support, or decline to continue the engagement. Any such decision will be made with care, communicated respectfully, and handled in accordance with the Terms and Conditions.

The Global Academic Studio is not liable for any emotional distress, psychological impact, or personal difficulty arising from participation in coaching sessions. By engaging with coaching services, you acknowledge that coaching may involve exploring challenging topics and that you are responsible for managing your own emotional wellbeing and seeking professional support where needed.

Where the Coach has a genuine and reasonable concern about a client’s safety or the safety of others, the Coach reserves the right to report such concerns to the appropriate authorities or professionals in good faith. The Global Academic Studio shall not be liable for any consequences arising from a safeguarding report made in good faith, even if the concern is not subsequently substantiated.

Confidentiality in Group Settings

Group programs offered by The Global Academic Studio may include group coaching sessions (live, participatory sessions with a small number of participants), online courses (cohort-based programs delivered in a one-to-many teaching format, which may be synchronous or asynchronous), and community platforms (such as Facebook groups or Slack channels where participants interact between sessions).

While The Global Academic Studio encourages confidentiality among all participants across all group settings, I cannot guarantee that other participants will maintain the privacy of shared discussions. By participating in any group program, you agree not to share any personal, business, or proprietary information from group sessions, course discussions, or community platforms outside the program. You acknowledge the inherent risk that other participants may not honor this expectation, and you agree that The Global Academic Studio and Tamas Robert Cserni are not liable for any unauthorized sharing of information by other participants.

The Global Academic Studio is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any information, opinions, or advice shared by other participants during group coaching sessions, online courses, or community platform interactions. You are responsible for independently verifying any information received from other participants before acting on it.

This limitation relates only to information voluntarily shared by participants during group interactions. The Global Academic Studio remains responsible for handling personal data in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws and the Site’s Privacy Policy.

3. Affiliate Links/Products

From time to time, I link to products or services I recommend using affiliate links. This means that I may receive a small percentage or fee for referring you to any product you may purchase from one of those sites. These small fees help sustain my small business. I truly appreciate your support.

I may feature sponsored blog posts. If I do, I will clearly state that the post is sponsored and by whom in the post. While I am committed to only featuring sponsored content from companies or products I have tried and found valuable, I make no warranties, guarantees, or representations as to the effectiveness or safety of said products or services. 5. Coaching Is General Guidance, Not Individual Advice

The coaching provided in coaching sessions (whether one-to-one or group) is general guidance and not personalized advice tailored to any individual’s academic, professional, or personal circumstances. Participation in coaching services creates a coaching service relationship only.

Coaching provided through The Global Academic Studio is educational and developmental in nature and does not constitute legal, medical, psychological, financial, or other regulated professional services. The full list of professional services that coaching is not a substitute for is set out in Section 2 of this Disclaimer. Clients seeking tailored advice in any of those areas should consult a qualified professional in the relevant field.

6. No Warranties, Guarantees, or Representations

Although I do my best to maintain the Site and its Content, I do not warranty, guarantee, or represent that my Content or Site, Courses, Services, and/or Products are accurate, complete, reliable, or free of errors or that they pertain to your particular circumstances or situation. Although I do my best to update the Site, I also cannot guarantee, due to how rapidly things change, that all of my Content is up to date or completely accurate.

This section provides a summary of the warranties and representations position. The full and binding terms governing warranties, guarantees, and representations are set out in the Terms and Conditions. Where any provision in this Disclaimer overlaps with or differs from the Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions shall prevail.

7. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so under applicable UK law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

All services are provided with reasonable care and skill in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. You remain responsible for how you apply information or guidance obtained through the Site or coaching services to your individual circumstances. You are responsible for evaluating whether the information and services provided are appropriate for your personal circumstances.

Without limiting the above, The Global Academic Studio shall not be liable for any loss of earnings, loss of career opportunities, academic outcomes, loss of data, or any decision made or action taken by you in reliance on information or guidance obtained through the Site, Courses, Services, or Products.

The Global Academic Studio is not liable for any loss or damage arising from technical failures, service interruptions, or disruptions to online sessions caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to internet connectivity issues, platform outages, or software failures.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the total aggregate liability of The Global Academic Studio to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with the Site, Courses, Services, or Products shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to The Global Academic Studio for the specific service or product giving rise to the claim.

The testimonials or examples on the Site are simply that: examples. While they are all accurate and authentic, I am not making any claims that you will experience the same or better results from using or purchasing the Site, Courses, Services, and/or Products.

9. No Endorsements

Any links to, mentions of, or features of various companies, products, or services are not in any way an endorsement of said company, product, and/or service by me. It does not mean that I guarantee your success, satisfaction, or safety with respect to said company, product, or service. You should only use or do business with one of those companies, products, or services after you have independently investigated it, assessed the applicable risk, and determined you would like to use or try it.

The Global Academic Studio accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, any third party product, service, or website linked from or mentioned on the Site.

10. Outcomes Disclaimer

I make every effort to accurately represent my programs and services. Any outcomes described or referenced on the Site are examples only of what may be possible. They are not guarantees of future results or a promise that you will experience the same or similar outcomes. Academic progress, career development, and research outcomes depend on many individual factors including your own effort, circumstances, and institutional context. I am not liable for the academic, professional, or personal outcomes resulting from use of my products, programs, and/or services.

Refund and cancellation rights, including your rights under distance selling regulations, are set out in the Terms and Conditions. Nothing in this Disclaimer prevents The Global Academic Studio from exercising discretion to offer accommodations beyond what is required by the Terms and Conditions.

11. Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, and Related Documents

This Disclaimer should be read alongside the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy, which together govern your use of the Site and any services provided by The Global Academic Studio. If you are a coaching client, your engagement is also governed by the Letter of Agreement provided to you before your first session.

This Disclaimer, together with the Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and (where applicable) the Letter of Agreement, constitutes the entire agreement between you and The Global Academic Studio regarding your use of the Site and any services provided. If any third party proposes alternative or additional terms, those terms shall have no effect unless expressly accepted by The Global Academic Studio in writing.

In the event of any conflict between this Disclaimer and the Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions shall prevail.

12. Group Programs: Participation, Conduct, and Community Guidelines

The Global Academic Studio offers group programs that may include group coaching sessions, online courses, and community platform participation. This section sets out the expectations that apply across all group formats.

Conduct Expectations for Live Sessions

To maintain a positive and constructive learning environment, all participants in live group coaching sessions and synchronous course sessions agree to:

  • Communicate respectfully with other participants and the Coach.

  • Refrain from disruptive behavior, harassment, or inappropriate conduct during sessions.

  • Allow equal participation and avoid dominating conversations in ways that limit the experience for others.

  • Not record, screenshot, or otherwise capture any part of a live session without the prior written consent of the Coach and all participants present.

Conduct Expectations for Community Platforms

Where group programs include access to a community platform (such as a Facebook group or Slack channel), all participants agree to:

  • Use the platform for its intended purpose of professional development, peer support, and program-related discussion.

  • Refrain from spam, unsolicited promotion, or solicitation of other participants.

  • Not share confidential materials, session recordings, or proprietary content from the program on or through the community platform.

  • Treat all interactions on the platform with the same respect and professionalism expected in live sessions.

Intellectual Property in Group Settings

All materials shared by the Coach during group coaching sessions, online courses, and on community platforms (including but not limited to frameworks, templates, resources, and presentation materials) remain the intellectual property of The Global Academic Studio. Participants may not reproduce, redistribute, or share these materials outside the program without prior written consent.

Right to Remove Participants

The Global Academic Studio reserves the right to remove a participant from any group program (including live sessions and community platforms) where behavior reasonably disrupts the learning environment, breaches these conduct expectations, or violates the Terms and Conditions. Any decision will be made fairly and proportionately. Refund eligibility, if applicable, will be assessed in accordance with the Terms and Conditions.

13. Governing Law

This Disclaimer shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in this clause limits your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
